WHAT IS THE BIG FISH CONTEST ABOUT?

​

You can be a leader for any number of species fresh or salt water.

 

This event is over the whole year, so you have 12 months to get on the board. When the year ends, all leader board holders will be entered into a raffle for a chance at winning $100, or $50, or $25 at the BASC end-of-the-year holiday party. For each variety/species that member has one entry into the raffle.

RULES TO FOLLOW

• Adhere to all the fishing regulations as specified in Fish and Game regulations that can be found at Fishing in California. All fish entered must be of legal size or they do not qualify in our contest.

​

• Fish should be measured from the tip of its nose to the middle of the tail down the lateral line of the fish. This is how to Measure!

​

• Length tiebreakers will be determined by the fish weight, so make sure to weigh it or you risk losing the lead.

​

• TWO pictures REQUIRED. One of you holding the fish and the second with the measurement of it. The measurement must be clear and easy to see or it will not count.

Steps

STEP 1)  Fill out the form below (date, location, person, length, weight) and submit it. Entry MUST be completed by

                    the active member who caught the fish 

 

STEP 2)  UPLOAD your TWO pictures as described above on the form

STEP 3)  Report catch within one week. Same or next day is preferred. THIS IS REQUIRED and late entries will not

                    be accepted to be fair to all who have followed the set rules.

​

STEP 4)  Please also go to the FORUM and under "Share A Fishing Story" share a brief (or detailed) story about your

                    big fish catch. Step 4 is not a requirement, but a request so that we can all appreciate your special catch.
